INTRODUCTION

Creative Music Tuition is based in Coffs Harbour and is run by Ruth Cregan, offering the Simply Music method developed in Australia. From 8 years old and up you will be playing great sounding contemporary, classical, blues and accompaniment pieces right from your very first lessons.

RETIREMENT

After years of teaching the piano to the Coffs Harbour community the time is coming when I will be retiring. I will however be continuing the business at least for the next three maybe four years.

In the mean time I would like to say thank you to my pupils past, present and future for such a rewarding journey which I look forward to continuing at least until the end of 2020!

THE TEACHERS

Ruth Cregan is a licensed and certified Simply Music Teacher, a registered teacher with the Austrlian Music Examinations Board, and a member of the Australian Guild Teacher’s Register. Ruth has been teaching piano and keyboard since 1986. Before learning the Creative Music Tuition program she prepared students for examinations with music reading, scales, exercises, theory and ear training. Ruth has been teaching the Simply Music method since 2006.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Simply Music Teacher, Registered Teacher with the Australian Music Examinations Board, Member of the Australian Guild Teacher’s Register.

PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS

The design of the Simply Music method makes practicing the piano more like playing for pleasure. Our goal in teaching is to maximize the likelihood that students will acquire and maintain music as a lifelong companion.

With these clarifications in place, here are our practice requirements.

– Practice 20-25 minutes per day at least 5 days per week, (preferably 6).

– Practice at the same time every day

– One day of the week you can practice at any time you want

– One day of the week you can skip practicing all together (unless you want to practice that day)

If in doubt, refer to the first requirement

Many students find it difficult to adhere to these guidelines because they enjoy practicing and play for longer periods of time and more often than is required.

ENROLMENT

Enrolments are received, and classes are formed in January, classes commencing in February.

A Free Introductory Session is required for each enrolment.
